D A Nelson was born in Glasgow.
On leaving school she became a trainee reporter, working for various newspapers.

Her debut novel, DarkIsle, won the Royal Mail Award for Scottish
Children’s Books in the 8-11 category in 2008.
The eagerly awaited sequel, DarkIsle: Resurrection, was published in 2010.

DarkIsle is also published in;
Canada, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Spain and is published by Random House in the USA.
