Catherine MacPhail

Catherine MacPhail is the award-winning author of more then twenty novels, including Roxy’s Baby (2005), A Kind of Magic (2001) Fighting Back (1998) and Run, Zan, Run (1994).
The first of the Granny Nothing series is reissued by Strident due to popular demand from teachers, librarians and schoolchildren.
It was originally published by Scholastic in 2003, and by BBC audio books in 2004.
Catherine has vast experience of presenting at festivals, book events and writers’ residencies. She has participated in workshops on writing for both children and adults.
She recently assisted feeder primary schools on vibrant projects related to her work, including overseeing graffiti art for her novel Tribes (2004) and the building of a wigwam for Fugitive (1999). She lives in Greenock.
